Instead of borrowing a fancy family ring, Prince Andrew did something different for his fiancee, Sarah Ferguson. He got her a custom-made ring! Taking a page from his brother Charles, who also broke tradition, Andrew went all out and bought a stunning Burmese ruby ring.

This ring has got 10 diamonds on a thin yellow gold band and a big old ruby in the middle. When Andrew proposed in 1986, he paid about $33,000 for it. Today, that’s about $78,000; talk about pricey bling!
