Sadly, most kids today will only ever recognize a rotary phone like this one from the TV or even in museums. This was before the days of caller ID or even being able to block a phone number. If someone was annoying you, you just had to hold the handset like this! If only we could do that with people in real-life…
If you really wanted to bug them, you could try slamming the handset down several times so that they’d get a headache. At least back then, cold callers were far and few between because only a select number had access to a handset. Now it feels like almost every call is a spam caller!
