A Rebellious Youth
Growing up in the Great Depression led to frequent moves and job changes for his father. This instability affected his schooling, leading to being held back and eventually expelled for mischievous acts including vandalism.

Despite transferring and finally graduating from a different high school, it was apparent that Clint’s lackluster academic performance was not due to a lack of intelligence, but rather a disdain for authority and a penchant for adventure.
