I just kind of feel bad for the makers of this cake. In this case, it doesn’t seem like a lack of good intentions but rather a lack of resources (and maybe a lack of talent). It’s clear they wanted to create some version of a porcupine cake, but they just didn’t have the right materials to make it pretty.

I’m sure whatever thirty-one-year-old this cake was made for wasn’t at all creeped out by the final result, right? They spent the next few hours curled up and crying behind their bedroom door with calming music playing on the stereo because they felt like it. Not creeped out even one little bit.
