If my kids said stuff like this, I’d be making bank. Third graders are at that awkward stage where they still pick their noses but want to be maudlin on occasion, too. Thankfully, I have kids that are morning people, but I know a few that really really aren’t, and that can be challenging.

Honestly, though, this kid must be reading some classic literature during her off time. This sounds like something straight out of Jane Eyre. If I had to guess, I’d say she’s either going to be an actress or an overpaid Governess catering to snotty kids at Thornfield Hall. It’s definitely a toss-up. We’ll know more when fifth-grade hits, but I see great things in this girl’s future.
