The Cat’s Out of the Bag
One little-known fact about Disneyland is that they have a super-secret task force that gets rid of pesky rodents around the park. Okay, it’s not so super-secret, but it is pretty cool. Disneyland has a large group of cats that roam the park at night in order to keep the rodent population under control. Employees have even honored them by calling them Cat Cast Members. They’re part of the crew!
It all started back in 1955 when the park was first being built. Imagineers found a few stray cats living in the park and some caring cast members adopted them. The cats kept coming, though, and instead of kicking them out, Disney staff let them stay in the Kingdom. If you have a sharp eye, you can even see some relaxing around the park during the day.
