Not every home can get a live Christmas tree, no matter how much they’d like to. Or perhaps some homes just really don’t want a live one. Either way, I think we can all agree that the cheap plastic stand at the bottom of the tree ruins the whole effect and takes away some of the magic. So here’s another clever hack to up your faux tree game.

Take a large tree stump and turn it into a base for your fake Christmas tree! First, find one that seems an appropriate height and circumference for the tree you plan to pair it with. Then, drill a hole in the center; make it the same size as the base of your tree. Once it’s deep enough, insert your tree into your new tree base! What a lovely touch of nature in your home.
