#33: Air Hostess Requirements
Nowadays, if a company posted age and weight requirements for a job, they would be immediately canceled and dragged to oblivion on social media. Back in the 1940s? Well, listing age and weight requirements was definitely a thing. At least as far as TWA air hostess job listings were concerned.

This TWA ad from 1945 shows exactly what corporate was looking for when hiring its air hostesses. If you wanted a chance at being hired by TWA, you had to be between 21 and 26 years old and weigh up to 130 pounds. While a job like this paid well, it was a field full of sexism. For example, women had to quit their air stewardess jobs once they got married. You had to be young, beautiful, and single.
