#34: The FDR Dime Model
This photo is a little disorienting, but it’s supposedly the sculpture that inspired the design of the dime. President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s profile graces the front of the dime. While the resemblance between this busy and FDR’s dime portrait is uncanny, we’re not sure where this sculpture is stored.

You’d think that a presidential sculpture of FDR would be displayed in a museum or something. However, this looks like it’s crammed in the corner of a drab break room or office. We’re not even sure if this image is real or not. What we do know for sure is that John Sinnock is officially credited with creating FDR’s dime portrait. Sinnock may have gleaned inspiration from Selma Burke’s relief sculpture of FDR.
