#8: Jerry West in Action
This image of Jerry West may look familiar, even if you’re not a diehard basketball fan. Jerry West played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1960 to 1974. During that time, the NBA debuted its brand-new red, white, and blue logo that is synonymous with the sport to this day. Where’s the tie-in? Well, it’s largely believed that the iconic logo is based on Jerry West himself.

If you compare the stance of the anonymous basketball player in the NBA logo with this photo of West, the resemblance is uncanny. The running stance is almost exactly the same. The thing is, the NBA has never acknowledged that their logo is based on West. In addition, they’ve never paid him for it. What do you think? Is the logo most likely based on the famous Laker player?
