#11: Neanderthal Intelligence
Labeling someone as a “Neanderthal” historically carried connotations of primitiveness or backwardness. However, modern scientific research, as emphasized by Fred H. Smith and others, presents a different perspective. Far from being brutish or unsophisticated, Neanderthals were remarkably adaptive, skilled in tool-making, and exhibited signs of complex behavior.
Recent archaeological discoveries have showcased their intelligence and ability to thrive in diverse environments. Therefore, perhaps it’s time to reconsider the term “Neanderthal” and recognize these ancient humans for their remarkable capabilities and contributions to human evolution.
