#37: Bleached Clean
This is a pretty nifty red flag to be aware of when staying at any hotel. If you smell bleach on your towels and bed linens, it’s a bad sign. When a hotel uses bleach and the smell lingers on their linens, that means they weren’t thoroughly cleaned. It also means they probably use cheap industrial cleaners.

While bleach is sometimes necessary to disinfect, hotels should be making sure it’s thoroughly washed out. Bleach is incredibly toxic and can be harmful to guests. Some people even have allergic reactions to bleach! Just keep your eyes and nose open for any signs of cheap cleaning, because that’s not something anyone wants when they stay at a hotel.
