But, some artists like the legendary Bob Dylan, the ethereal Bjork, the enigmatic Jack White, and the incomparable Kate Bush have bucked this trend, banning photos at their shows entirely. But the pioneer of this was none other than Janis… well, sort of.

A vivacious film crew was engrossed in capturing the vibrant spirit of the infamous hippie fiesta for the renowned Woodstock Documentary. However, the charismatic Janis Joplin, the queen of psychedelic soul, felt her performance fell short of her usual electrifying standard. She adamantly refused to let her set be immortalized in the documentary, fearing it wouldn’t do justice to her legendary status for the future generations to admire.
