The Evolution of Jupiter Imagery
As the saying goes, change is the only constant, which also holds true for the cosmos. The progression in the imagery of Jupiter serves as a testament to this fact. Over time, spacecraft have captured increasingly detailed and sharper images of this gas giant, showcasing the amazing improvement in our technological capabilities and our growing understanding of the universe.
In a remarkable feat of space exploration, NASA’s Juno spacecraft has been orbiting Jupiter for the past six years, after its launch in 2011 and its arrival in 2016. Pioneering in its mission, Juno has transmitted back to Earth the most vivid and detailed images of Jupiter’s poles ever seen, marking a significant milestone in our quest to explore and comprehend the largest planet in our solar system.
