On-Screen Kisses That Stirred Up More BTS Drama Than People Realize

Although Jake Johnson and Max Greenfield’s characters on New Girl were just platonic pals, it’s easy to see why fans might have read more into their dynamic. Greenfield was known for his love of improv on set, and one of his go-to moves was to surprise Johnson with a kiss on the lips.

During an interview, Greenfield joked that after the seventh spontaneous kiss, the producers decided to roll with it, making it a recurring gag. Johnson, however, needed some time to adjust. Initially annoyed by the unexpected kisses, he eventually warmed up to the idea after it became a regular part of their on-screen antics.
