Back to The Future (1985)
Anyone who’s into 80’s movies, like really super-interested in them, ends up becoming super sleuths because they’re the types of people to watch movies over and over. They’re the ones pausing and rewinding and in this case, for this movie, will definitely have noticed the clever sign change in Back to The Future. Marty McFly and Doc Brown get together at the Twin Pines Mall, after which they travel back in time to 1955.
The movie later on shows that Marty McFly is definitely being chased down, and in his haste, he mistakenly runs over one of the two pines. He doesn’t know it yet, but now the future is completely changed. He doesn’t return until the end of the film, but you can notice that the mall’s name has permanently been changed to reflect his actions. To be honest, we hadn’t noticed this when watching the film, we were so caught up with Marty’s chase.
