If someone is talking to them, they’ll try their hardest to focus on what is being said, but more often than not, they have no idea what is happening. Interestingly, they understand the individual words being spoken, but their brain isn’t registering the actual meaning.

Difficulty with language comprehension is a common symptom of ADHD. People with ADHD may find it hard to manage a noisy, distracting environment while someone is talking to them. Also, rapidly-spoken language can be hard to process. That doesn’t mean our storyteller doesn’t have the capacity to understand; they can just miss details or lose track of a conversation.
