The Telltale Earrings
As I’ve said before, kids are very observant, and they pay attention to their surroundings. We often think that they are easily fooled, and while that may be the case sometimes, we should give them more credit. This girl was so perceptive, she could tell Santa was actually her aunt just by her earrings.
To be fair, this aunt was pretty sloppy. Couldn’t she take off her earrings for one night for the sake of the costume? It wasn’t only the OP who noticed the earrings and uncovered the truth, but all the kids in the family. I wonder if they said anything or went along with it so as not to make their aunt feel self-conscious.
