Killing Two Birds With One Stone
Santa Claus isn’t the only fictional character kids believe is real. We have unicorns, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and the list goes on. Believing in these magical characters might give them some comfort – which we all seek in life – and I can’t blame them for hanging on to those beliefs.
One kid had to find out that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are not real, all on the same day. She must have felt like her world was collapsing. Her mother must have felt pretty bad about the slip-up, but in a way, it was for the best, as it saved her a very awkward and difficult conversation down the line. Sometimes, it’s best to just rip off the band-aid.
