‘Wonderful Tonight’ by Eric Clapton
Year of Release: 1977
Eric Clapton, enraptured by Pattie Boyd while she was George Harrison’s wife, later married her and penned ‘Wonderful Tonight.’ The ballad, inspired by Boyd preparing for a Buddy Holly tribute, is a musical follow-up to his ‘Layla.’

Boyd’s journey from Harrison (1966-1977) to Clapton (1979-1989) ended due to Clapton’s infidelities and a child from an affair. 2015, she embarked on a new chapter by marrying her third husband.
