#7: I like to See Where I’m Going
Invisible buildings make me very wary, and I know I can’t be the only one. Some people are calling this the future, but it’s not a logical step! Not only is this off-putting for humans, but it’s also dangerous for birds, too. This building is the BNL-BNP Paribas in Rome. Alfonso Femia Atelier created the unique structure.
The building is twelve stories of reflective glass, allowing it to blend in and change depending on the time of day. It won the 2017 “Smart Building” architecture award due to the novelty, but hopefully, this niche doesn’t catch on. Can you imagine how scary it would be if Godzilla came to life and there was a full-sized reflection terrorizing the city? No, thank you!
