#27: Nothing Worse Than Inauthencity
Diving into a period drama, you’re ready for some authentic Middle Ages action. It starts off promising, but the eye-rolls kick in when the milkmaid’s on-screen, and suddenly, it’s less about history and more about something else… Can’t a series ever just appreciate a woman for who she is?

And just when you hope the male characters will get the same treatment, nope, it’s the scruffy peasant with a pitchfork, and you’re left thinking, Of course, it’s always the double standard. The little things like this make you hope for a bit more realism and a lot less stereotype.
