Tragedy Strikes the Robinson Household
Only a month following the arrival of Mary Ann as the housekeeper, tragedy struck the Robinson household with the death of one of their children. The cause was gastric fever, an ailment that had claimed many of Mary Ann’s own offspring. Devastated, Robinson sought comfort in Mary Ann’s arms, finding solace amidst the pain.

In the wake of the family tragedy, Mary Ann conceived Robinson’s child, intertwining their lives further. However, sorrow was quick to follow joy when Mary Ann learned of her mother’s severe illness. She hurried to her side, but grief struck again as her mother passed away only nine days after Mary Ann’s visit.
