In North Korea, capturing images that cast a shadow over its image is off-limits. A man in worn and mismatched attire, burdened by a hefty gas canister, fell short of the ‘ideal’ photographic subject due to his poor presentation.

The photograph’s subject hardly showed enthusiasm, possibly fearing negative repercussions or simply being too drained after a grueling day to entertain the lens of an unfamiliar tourist.
