By looking at photographs, you can imagine what music was playing in the background, what the weather was like outside, and how people felt. And whilst we wish we could have been there, experiencing life way back when firsthand, the creators of the Vintage Weird Facebook group have that part covered. #1: The World’s Largest Automobile, 1934
Considering that the world has advanced so intensely since the new millennium, it is hard to imagine how certain things ever got done beforehand. It is mind-boggling to think about how buildings were built and how cars were manufactured without all of the incredibly efficient technology we have today. However, many people argue that things were built in an objectively sturdier manner.
Whilst impressive, this giant Studebaker was not a real car but a prototype to be displayed at the Travel and Transport Building of the Chicago International Exposition of 1934. Being 80 feet long and 28 feet wide, this model was a real sight to see. The sheer size of people against this huge art piece is somewhat confusing to the senses…
