Even if you don’t know a lot about the female body, you have to admit this sounds pretty ridiculous. We aren’t born with that knowledge- we have to learn about the human body and giving birth, and some people prefer not to know. Maybe they’re scared they’ll find out something unpleasant or gross? Who knows.

Anyway, in case you were wondering – no, you don’t disconnect and put the umbilical cord back in the mother’s belly once the baby is born. There’s no shame in not knowing these things and there’s also no shame in asking or looking it up. If you don’t know- ask your wife or doctor. The more you know, the better!
