Romanticizing Women
Books, movies, and TV shows have a way of romanticizing women and setting unrealistic expectations for real-life women. I can see the sentiment behind this; in a romantic novel, the author wants to create an image of the woman in the reader’s mind, so they have to delve into an elaborate description of her looks and why the man finds her so perfect.

However, as this person points out, most of the time these depictions are just not true. Lips aren’t just naturally rep without a touch of makeup, and women don’t just naturally smell like fresh fruit or flowers- it’s either perfume, soap, or something she’s been eating recently. These expectations are simply unrealistic.
