Harriet Tubman, renowned for her activism in abolition, women’s rights, and political spheres, famously escaped slavery. During the Civil War, she contributed significantly to the Union army as a spy, scout, and lookout.
Tubman’s heroism is highlighted through her leadership of thirteen missions on the Underground Railroad, rescuing over seventy enslaved individuals from plantations and Confederate service. Her efforts during this time period became legendary.
