The Discovery of Lady SAS in 2022
In May 2022, the Palenque Archaeological Site unveiled a skeleton, fondly named Lady SAS, aged between 45-50. The National Institute of Anthropology and History investigated to illuminate the life of this Mayan woman.
Lady SAS’s burial diverged from the norm, located not in a temple but a stone workshop. Her notably widened skull suggests foreign origins, marking her as a fascinating anomaly within the kingdom’s archaeological narrative.
