#36: Debit or Credit?
This piece of hotel advice is also great advice for adult life in general. Don’t use your debit card unless you actually have enough money in your account to pay for your room. People tend to forget that debit cards do not act like credit cards. Your account will be automatically debited the moment the charge is put through.

If you don’t have all the money necessary to pay for a room in your checking account, use a credit card. Your personal finances are not the responsibility of the front desk employees, so don’t even think about getting mad at them for charging your debit card. Hotels are businesses, and they want their money. They don’t care that you didn’t tally up your savings correctly beforehand.
